BC Brain Wellness Program

April 4th, 2022

UBC Giving Day

April 6, 2022

UBC Giving Day is just two days away. We are humbled by the generous outpouring of support we have already received from our Brain Wellness community. Over $1,700 in donations to date. And we are thrilled to announce that an anonymous donor has come forward and will match all donations made to the BC Brain Wellness Program - up to $10,000! Now your donation will have double the impact. For more information, click the button below for our UBC Giving Day page.

As our program is largely funded by private donations, we are extremely thankful that our donors share our vision and their generosity allows us to continually improve, expand the program, and broaden our reach across British Columbia.

Thank you for supporting Brain Wellness, Beyond All Boundaries.

Everybody Has a Story: An Intergenerational Storytelling Project

We are extremely excited to announce the success of this pilot project! The Intergenerational Project beautifully connected students and seniors through storytelling for health and wellness. Through online orientation sessions that highlighted the health benefits of storytelling to a student/senior matching session, we were able to truly witness the power of sharing lived experiences to promote a sense of community and belonging. The student/senior duo created personalized physical storybooks, concluding the project with a Community Celebration.

This pilot project truly embodies the vision of the BC Brain Wellness program: Brain Wellness, Beyond All Boundaries. Although the students and seniors were physically apart, they were able to bond on a deeper level and bridge the gap between the age difference that often silos people of various generations.

The BC Brain Wellness Program offers more than exercise and music classes; we are dedicated to promoting a sense of identity, dignity, and sense of purpose, ultimately to improve brain wellness, beyond all boundaries.

For a special student/senior feature, keep an eye out for our blog post coming up this week!
